Incumbent Ravi Shastri will continue his role as Team India head coach after the three-member Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) comprising Kapil Dev, Anshuman Gaekwad and Shantha Rangaswamy gave his candidature a nod on Friday at the BCCI headquarters in Mumbai. Shastri has been given a two-year contract which will see him at the helm till the 2021 World T20 in India. This will be Shastri's fourth stint with the national team, having served briefly as the Cricket Manager (2007 tour of Bangladesh), Team Director (2014-2016) and head coach (2017-2019). Senior BJP leader and former foreign minister Sushma Swaraj passed away a while ago at AIIMS on Tuesday. The BJP veteran, who suffered a massive heart attack, died at the age of 67. Her last Twitter post was about thanking Prime Minister Narendra Modi about the government’s move on Kashmir stating that she was waiting for this day in her lifetime. Swaraj, who was for the Bharatiya Janata Party’s most prominent woman face, did not contest the recently held Lok Sabha elections in which the party won with a massive majority. The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) launched India's second moon mission, Chandrayaan-2, at 2:43 pm on Monday, 22 July, from the second launchpad at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, a week after the lift-off was aborted due to a technical snag. The Vikram lander will land on the moon on the 48th day of the mission. The Rs 978 crore mission, seeking to explore the uncharted Lunar south pole by landing a rover, was launched onboard one of the most powerful rockets GSLV Mk-III.
